Having watched Mr. David A. Prior's tour de force Sledgehammer on this podcast ... and having been witness to his earlier masterpieces like Aerobicide and Deadly Prey. We obviously felt it was time to dive back in to another of the mans master works. To once again remind us of why it is we do what we do.

Starring the visionary directors hunky brother (Ted Prior) in the lead ... and adding the gravitas of one Robert Z'Dar ... we're brought to the pinnacle of low budget action b-movies!

So I'm probably overselling it but what can I say ... action movie tropes with cheesy dialogue ... Russians ... explosions ... happy ending Three's Company freeze frame!. Throw in some die hard line ripoffs and I give you The Final Sanction!

Looking at our current list of potential films, there's only one Oscar-winning actor I can think of who's in more than one, and that's Tom Hanks. (If only Jumping Jack Flash was on the list...better luck next time, Whoopi.) The Omegahedron recognized that this state of affairs was unmaintainable, and so today we'll strike off Hanks's first major non-cross-dressing role, in a TV-movie based on a hastily-written novel that was itself based on an urban legend about a Dungeons and Dragons enthusiast who took his obsession...too far. This webipod is not for neophytes or the faint of heart, as we take our sweet time unpacking the history of role-playing games, and what it's like to be a fly on the wall during a particularly contentious Vampire: The Masquerade LARP in the '90s; we also level up, several times.

Join us as we enter another time ... another place. A gritty urban setting, possibly from the 40 ... possibly from the 80's. A city plagued by a vicious street gang led by Willem Dafoe. A city where the only joy and respite found by it's beleaguered blue collar populous is a hard hitting pop rock group led by Diane Lane and managed by Rick Moranis. A city who's only saviors are Michael Paré and his lesbian mechanic sidekick Amy Madigan. ....... I give you Streets of Fire!!!

... also Bill Paxton is a bartender or something.

We sort of enjoyed this one believe it or not. So listen as we don't actually hate ourselves and everything this podcast stands for ... this time.

Also, we drink flaming martinis! ... kind of!

Cliche Hollywood weirdos, the La Brea Tar Pits and did I mention GOOSE!? There really isn't a whole lot more to say about this one. Join us for Miracle Mile ... or Miracle Ten Mile if you know what I mean ... (pause for laughter) ... cause the movie felt long ... cause it wasn't great ... get it? ... ?

What do you get when you create a disaster film in the late 70's, about bees, starring Katharine Ross, Richard Widmark, Richard Chamberlain, Olivia de Havilland, Ben Johnson, Lee Grant, José Ferrer, Patty Duke, Slim Pickens, Bradford Dillman, Fred MacMurray, Henry Fonda and Michael "Fucking" Caine !!?? ... You get an all star ensemble piece of shit! You get swarms of bees killing people, knocking planes from the sky, derailing trains and detonating nuclear power plants simply by wizzing around in a frenzy! You get mind boggling pseudoscience running through pointless plotlines with no end or resolution! ............. You get Michael Caine yelling passionately about bees!! ...

... ladies and gentlemen ... The Swarm.

This one made me wanna punch the 70's right in its 70's face.
